Mazz Murray among cast announced for Thin Lizzy musical Moonlight – The Philip Lynott Enigma
A new stage musical inspired by the music and life of Thin Lizzy icon Philip Lynott is set to premiere later this year, with West End performer Mazz Murray among the leading cast members announced.
Moonlight – The Philip Lynott Enigma will explore the story of the legendary Irish rock musician, charting his rise to fame as the frontman of Thin Lizzy and examining both his artistic impact and personal journey. The production will feature a score built around some of the band’s most recognisable songs, bringing Lynott’s distinctive voice and songwriting to a new theatrical audience.
Murray, known for her acclaimed performances in major West End productions including Mamma Mia! and We Will Rock You, will take on a principal role in the musical. She will be joined by a wider ensemble of performers as the creative team aims to capture the energy and cultural significance of Lynott’s music.
The show will combine live performance with a narrative that delves into Lynott’s identity, creativity and enduring influence on rock music. Producers have described the musical as both a tribute to his legacy and a fresh interpretation designed for contemporary theatre audiences.
Further casting announcements and production details are expected in the coming months as the musical prepares for its premiere.
